Joseph David "Joe" Hyde

Joseph David Hyde, known affectionately as Joe to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, in Somerville, MA, at the age of 54. Born on June 2, 1971, in Malden, MA.
Joe was the cherished son of the late Norman and Blanche "Bunny" Hyde. His loving family surrounded him throughout his life, including his long-time girlfriend, Keina, who brought immeasurable joy and companionship. He was a beloved brother to Edward and his wife Sandra, Sue, Judi Giordano, Michael and his wife Shannon, and his daughter Elisha Hyde Castillo, and her husband Maxwell "Max," as well as his three grandchildren. His many nieces, nephews and cousins also held a special place in his heart, as he did in theirs.
Joe spent many years behind the wheel as a taxi driver with Malden Taxi, where he was known for his gentle demeanor and his knack for making passengers smile. He later channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into becoming self-employed.
Those who knew Joe will remember a man who was the embodiment of funny, gentle, and loving. His laughter was infectious, and he had an uncanny ability to lift the spirits of those around him. Joe's gentle soul made him a friend to many, and his loving nature was a comfort to all who were lucky enough to cross his path.
As we say goodbye to Joe, we celebrate a life lived with joy, kindness, and an abundance of love. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories we share and the laughter he inspired. His journey on this earth may have ended, but his spirit will continue to guide and influence us all. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a beacon of light in the lives of those he touched.
