Joseph “J.C.” Clifton Barfield, Jr., 80, of Lucama passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Springhill Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 7335 Springfield School Road, Lucama. Pastor Stan Jones and Rev. David Barbour will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Watson’s Grove FWB Church, 8712 Watson’s Grove FWB Church Road, Kenly and other times at the home of his son, Chris.
J.C. was a faithful member of Watson’s Grove FWB Church, where he served as a deacon, teacher, and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a well-known farmer and carpenter in the Springhill Community. J.C. graduated from Rock Ridge High School in 1963 with honors. He served his country with honor and pride with the National Guard.
J.C. is survived by his son, Chris Barfield and wife, Christy of Lucama; daughter, Rhonda B. Davis of Lucama; grandson, Connor Barfield; granddaughter, Courtney Barfield; brother, Wayne Barfield and wife, Carol of Lucama and his sister, Jean Gray of Lucama.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Stancil Barfield; grandson, Clay Price; parents, Joseph Clifton and Lear Barfield, and his sister, Peggy Fulghum.
