I was fortunate to work with Steve in the F-16 Logistics area. One incident I will never forget was when appraisals came out one year. He asked to look at mine ---unbeknownst to me, he took the paper and marched into the bosses office, (me trailing behind). He demanded that Mr. Gayle Anderson (our boss) change my appraisal and that I deserved much more. Steve even went so far to tell Mr. Anderson that he should swap our scores, giving me the highest one and Steve taking the low one. I have never seen anyone at Hill AFB ever put up a fight like that for their fellow worker.
He would always ask you how your day was going and how you were doing. Steve was a good friend. I wish the Jeffs' family peace.
