Funeral services for Mr. Joseph “Joe” Edwin Mulhearn, Sr., 76, of Monroe, LA, will be held 10:00AM Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Rev. Tobias Obado officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 12, 2024, with a vigil at 6:30 P.M at the funeral home.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Lide Mulhearn; daughter, Holly Elizabeth Mulhearn Robertson; two brothers, Thomas H “Tom” Mulhearn Jr. and Peter G. Mulhearn Sr.; and parents, Thomas Henry “Tom” and Marie Adragna Mulhearn.
Joe was born on August 7, 1948, in Monroe, LA and passed away on his birthday August 7, 2024, when he went to celebrate with the Lord.
He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, and he was a third-degree knight of the Knights of Columbus council 1337 in Monroe. He graduated from Neville High School and the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. He was a past president of the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association. He was a member of the Wednesday afternoon Round Table Group at Sal’s.
He was a former Co-Owner of Mulhearn Corporation which includes the funeral homes, flower shops, cemetery and insurance. He was a licensed funeral director, embalmer and florist.
He was the former Coroner of Franklin and Ouachita Parish.
He loved to travel with his wife Nancy, they had many exciting travels all over the world. Joe loved to hunt and spend time at the camp.
Survivors include his son, Joseph “Joey” Edwin Mulhearn, Jr. (Candace R. Williams); grandsons, Hunter Davis Robertson, Logan Robertson and Jonah Henry Mulhearn; sister, Barbara Mulhearn McKenzie (Harry); brothers-in-law, Carl Harris and Rev. Terry Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Robertson, Gus Antis, Henry McKenzie, George McKenzie, Mark McKenzie, and Thomas H. Mulhearn, III.
The family would like to give special thanks to Joe’s dedicated caregivers and to all who have been a part of his caring medical providers.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul.
