Joseph Konczyk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by T.J. Fluehr Funeral Home on Jan. 4, 2026.
Joseph Leo Konczyk, of Philadelphia, passed away surrounded by his loved ones, at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital on December 31, 2025, at the age of 70.

Joe spent 32 years working as a Police Officer with the City of Philadelphia, a career he was truly passionate about. His dedication to public service led to lifelong friendships and influenced his daughter to follow in his footsteps who is currently assigned to the First District. Even after his retirement, he always had a police scanner or radio nearby. He was also a licensed Ham radio operator and enjoyed communicating with others worldwide.

He was an avid Eagles, Phillies and Flyers fan and train enthusiast. Joe enjoyed summer crabbing trips to Maryland and the Jersey Shore, but most of all, he cherished the time spent making memories with his family. Joe was a devoted father, husband, brother, friend and pillar of strength to his family.

He leaves behind his mother, Lorraine Konczyk, and joins his late father, Joseph R. Konczyk. Beloved husband of 48 years to Jean (nee Daraio); loving father of Christina Konczyk, Joseph (Christie) Konczyk and Jillian Konczyk; cherished Pop Pop of Lucas, Ella and Zachary; dear brother of Kenneth, Richard (Amey), Susan (Ron) Lewis, Lisa and the late Donald (Laurie). Joseph is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and his Wales Place community.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM at the T.J. Fluehr Funeral Home, 11010 Knights Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery.
