This really didn't come as a shock as Uncle Joe's health has been bad and his recent fall with broken bones and other injuries has been very hard on him and the immediate family. I loved this man a great deal but as everything now a days we don't keep in touch with our loved ones outside of your wife and kids as much as we should. It's a shame that family only sees each other at losses of family members or big parties such as weddings. I know Uncle Joe (who is also my Godfather and My Dad's only younger Brother) is No longer suffering. All the aches and pains are over but Our Love for this Man is still here and Very Strong. This was a great man and he had a hard life losing his Mother at a very young age (I believe 2) and went to an orphanage. But he managed to be strong and grow up what I believe to have an awesome life serving his Country in the US AIR FORCE. After his years doing great things in our military, he left with an honorable discharge and shortly after that join the Chicago Police Department.
I'm not exactly sure the amount of years Uncle Joe was a Chicago Police officer (>25 years for sure) but he retired after many years serving and protect Chicagoland in some of the hardest streets to protect. Lastly he served the CPD on the shores of Lake Michigan on a Chicago Police Boat. He rescued countless Citizens and I know this was his favorite job of all, He Love the water. He LOVED to Fish and many gave him the nickname COHO Joe. He has left behind many, many family members and friends who Loved and still LOVE him dearly. Don't be too sad at his passing, remember all the great things he has done in his life and all the people he has helped. He was a Great Man. I am proud to be his Nephew and Godson and I only hope to be half the Man he was. He is No longer suffering anymore and that's another thing to remember when you miss him. He is in Heaven with my Dad and enjoying the things they both loved the most, making people Happy and Fishing. Love you !!
