Joseph Kruser Obituary

Joseph Kruser, age 75, of Sherrill, passed away at 6:30pm, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at home. To honor Joe's life, family and friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street. Funeral services will be held at 7:00pm with Pastor Jack Redmond officiating.
Joseph was born on October 15, 1948, in Dubuque, son of Clarence and Alma (Gronau) Kruser.
Joe attended school in Dubuque and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. Following his graduation Joe had a few odd jobs and then began a career with John Deere Dubuque Works. He met his future wife, Jerrilyn Havens, and they were married on July 19, 1969 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dubuque. They celebrated 53 years of marriage last year. Joe's career at Deere's spanned 33 years and included many positions, lastly as a painter and in maintenance. Joe retired in 2000, but not wanting to sit still, he began working for Three Rivers FS in Holy Cross for 10 more years. Joe was a proud member of the UAW Local 94, he enjoyed traveling, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson.
One of his greatest joys was spending time with his children and his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish Joe's memory include
his wife,
Jerrilyn Kruser, Sherrill, IA;
his children,
Jason (Darla) Kruser, Mountain Lake, MN,
Jeremy Kruser, Bloomfield, IA
and Jodi (Jeremy) Siebler, Davenport, IA;
and 5 grandchildren,
Shelby Kruser, Isabella and Olivia Kruser, and Zane and Margo Siebler.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Bernice Havens, a daughter-in-law, Michele Kruser, and a brother, James Kruser.
Joe's family would like to thank Dr. Whalen and his staff, the 5 North nurses at UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital and Hospice of Dubuque for their genuine care and concern.
