Joseph Jay Kusza, 77, of Wallingford, husband of the late Barbara (Morassini) Kusza, passed away unexpectedly August 31, 2025 at MidState Medical Center.
Jay was born in Meriden on July 27, 1948, the son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Orzech) Kusza, and had been a Wallingford resident since 1979. Jay was a graduate of Francis T. Maloney High School. A skilled electrician, he worked at New Departure, AC Delco, and Marlin, as well as helping family and friends in his spare time. Jay was a man of unwavering kindness and playful wit. He brought laughter wherever he went and found joy in life's simplest moments. A devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he leaves behind cherished memories of his warmth and caring spirit. He will be deeply missed.
Jay is survived by his daughters, Kerri Cahoy and her husband, John, and Janine Anthes and her husband, John; his son, Aaron Kusza, and his wife, Michelle; his sister, Marianne Morin, and her husband, David; his grandchildren, Ryan and Amber Cahoy, Hannah and Caelyn Anthes, and William, Hailey, and Landon Kusza; and his niece, Kendra Clancy.
Jay's family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
