Joseph J. Kuzemka

Joseph J. Kuzemka, 87, of Charlottesville, Virginia, died Friday, October 30, 2009, at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Born in Plains, Pennsylvania, Mr. Kuzemka had been a resident of Plains for over 84 years. He served in the United States Army Air Force from 1940 until 1944 and was a survivor of the World War II bombings at Hickam Field, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

He had worked and retired from Bon-Ton (Pomeroy's) Department Stores. Joseph was a member of the Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plains. In his leisure, he enjoyed watching sports on television and will be deeply missed by his family and by all who knew him.

He was the son of the late Alex and Katherine Dobrowalska Kuzemka; brother of the late Alex Kuzemka and Edward Kuzemka. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kuzemka.

His dearest children and their spouses, Michael and Maureen Kuzemka of Palmyra, Virginia, and Jim and Cheryl Radzville of Palmyra, Virginia, survive him. He is also survived by two sisters, Florence Stuckowski of Orlando, Florida, and Irene Pisano of Hanover Township, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, Ana, Brin, and Lauren.

There will be a funeral mass for family and friends in Pennsylvania in the near future.
