It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Aren Leining, a creative soul who brought laughter, wit, and wonder into the lives of those around him. Born on November 23, 1974, in Texas City, TX, Aren lived a vibrant, rich life that ended too soon on May 12, 2024. He was a multi-talented individual who spread joy through his unique hobbies and his fascinating work as a cremation technician in the funeral industry.
Aren was a man of many passions, each one revealing a different facet of his character. His love for motorcycles and jeeps embodied his adventurous spirit, while his fondness for fishing reflected his patience and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. His most treasured retreat was the lake near Goodrich, a place where he found solace and inspiration. As a skilled craftsman, Joseph found joy in woodworking and jewelry making, transforming raw materials into beautiful works of art. His keen eye for beauty extended to his love for photography, capturing moments that would otherwise be fleeting. An annual attendee of the Ren-Fest, Aren's love for whimsy and fantasy was infectious. Above all, his bond with his rescue dog Lucy showcased his compassionate and loving nature. To quote the late Maya Angelou, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." And Aren, with his funny and witty nature, always left a positive imprint on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.
Aren leaves behind his loving mother, Mary Leining, his cherished sister, Cristie Gutierrez (Simon), nieces and nephews, David, Caelin, Lennon and Laney, Step-Mother Lanette Leining, Great Aunt Gene Strickhausen, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Leining. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Virginia Brown and Chris Strickhausen for their unwavering support during this time. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 5:00 pm CDT at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 2400 21st Street North, Texas City, Texas, 77590. A memorial service will follow at the same location at 6:00 pm CDT.
Aren's life was a tapestry of quirky charm, creative genius, and unforgettable experiences. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit lives on in the memories we shared with him. We invite you to honor his life by sharing your fondest memories, stories, and photos on Aren's memorial page. Your tributes will serve as a comforting reminder of the extraordinary man that Joseph was, allowing his legacy to live on in our hearts and minds.

Wishing I had the pics of the date night / party of us dressed up for Your company party at Carnes Funeral home.Yet this is when we went to family breakfast with sis and my mom at Noah's my heart goes out today never forget All the times we shared from prayer in morning and breakfast at Busy Bee in Alvin to working and working on truck together to prayer before bed Amen Im at peace knowing your not in pain anymore and your with our father in heaven amen

Not sure if this is going to post a second time and then always have the greatest look I'm trying to post things my first memory is of Aren just getting his hair highlighted and having a cool pool party during high school years driving his mini truck with the cool music out of the yearbook he had the CD hanging from his rear view mirror. He always helped me get my kids back and forth to school and two babysitter and me to work he always made time to make sure I was ok through the years. Perfect example of loving someone without intimacy we always made time to talk no matter where we live or where we were in life. I was always so proud of all his accomplishments he did greatin shop in high school,worked at AMOCO plant,worked on the road even in Alaska shared great pictures. He also was a security guard and he put his heart into working for Carnes Funeral home. He had many dreams even of having his own land where you could build homes for people that work out on the road or for a plant or assembly line with great covers to protect their vehicles and good fencing for security and safety. He loves his family and friends and he loved being an uncle. He always made sure that I was okay and asked me about my children we've been friends many many years it just won't be the same not being able to just pick up the phone and see how you are hard to hear one of your silly jokes the hyaluronic he passed away on Sunday nobody let me know until my sister Nikki messaged and I looked up at the sky and I knew you were at peace how ironic that I seen the picture that I'm attaching you always love going through Renaissance festival you love swords you wear unique and one of a kind and God's masterpiece you would be forever missed may you shine upon family and friends especially your mom. Are you rest in peace but never forgotten in Jesus name amen love shell also known as wildflower

I have Far to many stories to talk about. Joseph was one of my closest friends since high school. I lived with him on more than one occasion. Hell my mom called him her other son. I moved away in 2007 got married had kids. My son has heard stories of some of the stupid things I did as a kid and far to many started out with me an Aren. We only talked but a few times since I left. He will be greatly missed by me and my wife who only new him a short time. I love you my brother from another mother. My heart and condolences got out to Your mom Mary and sister Cristie.
