You were my very first nephew. There was a time when we were very close, being almost the same age. Five years is close enough to be brother and sister. Time marches on and so did you. Save a space for me and take care of my son, brothers and sister. 'Til we all meet again for those infamous Lombardo barbecues, rest in peace.

Joe, you were one of a short list of people who could do anything. You would be the guy I would want with me if I was stranded or lost. I would never have passed that programming course if you didn't help me back then. It was always great to see you at Sunnyhill every summer - your stories and conversations were always a joy. I'll miss you. God Bless and hold you. Jeff Zelenka

It was over thirty years ago that I bought a home near you in Middle Island. It was great because it bordered State land, which we walked and hunted together.
We really never shot anything, but it was fun. We graduated to Duck hunting, hours of prep, tons of food, and lots of discussion and fun with the gang. It was your gang, you held them together.
I tell my son Tyler, your nephew who loved you so much about those days and remind him to relish those he now shares with his Uncle Jim.
Soon he will accompany me, your buddy Ronny and my good friend Rusty on one more trip to our old stomping ground in Great South Bay. We will bring a bottle of Wild Turkey, have a drink and spread your ashes over the point you named after me. God Bless you.

Joe,
As your associate for several years, we were both members of a highly skilled technical group supporting NatWest Bank. Expedited requirements and tight deadlines impacted our group's internal relationships but you always had a way of "lightening" up the working atmosphere. You provided this by a well timed joke, a funny story, or just a hearty laugh at the right time. Additionally, it was important to me that when I needed your assistance, you not only took the time to help me...but the time to see that I fully understood what I needed to know.
Many years have passed since our NatWest days and we traveled separate paths. But is important to remember our friends and how they influenced our lives... and for that Joe I am very thankful for having known you. God bless you.

Joe:
First, thank you for making my mom so happy. The two of you deserved each other! :) She misses you terribly.
Second, thanks for making me a better man. You and I didn't always know it but I learned a great deal from you. I will always value that. And you have no idea how much I appreciate you making the trip down this past January. Meant so much to me.
Lastly, I miss you.

Dear Joe, I will miss your kind face, friendly eyes, and good cooking to say nothing of the great conversations we always had. You were so much a part of our family and you fit so well just as if you had been there for all eternity. I will remember you with the kindness you always showed me and I will miss that gleam in your eyes especially when telling something not exactly true. Till we meet again - and don't get into too much trouble with Ralph during the interim -Love always Toni - the Volpicelli Family Matriarch!

Haven't seen you guys in awhile, but I will always remember the good ole' NatWest days and how perfect you were for each other.
Joe will always be remembered as a wonderful person with a great sense of humor - a no-nonsense guy with a big heart.
The world was a better place with him in it. He will be missed.
God bless Joe, and you, Kathy.
With love and prayers,

There's a song that says "Only the good die young." I for one think 67 is young. I am so happy that I got the chance to see you and Kathy in January. I will always remember our days at NatWest, your friendship and humor. I will always cherish the wood duck you carved, that has had a special place in my wall unit for the past 25 years. I will always think of you and keep you in my heart and prayers whenever I look at it. Rest in peace and have a glass of vino with my parents and grandparents.

Hi Honey,
It's been 3 weeks since you went away and my heart is still broken. I miss you so much. I talk to you all the time and I know you are listening, and that helps a lot. I'm just taking it day by day, knowing that you are happy in Heaven, keeping busy, and watching over us. I love you and always will.

They say that each day gets better. I am finding that each day is more lonely without you. I miss you so much Daddy. A part of me died with you. I feel like I will never be the same. The only thing that keeps me going is the wonderful memories of you and me together as father and daughter. I am so grateful for all the things you taught me. And each time I accomplish something that you explained to me how to do, I know you are looking down on me and saying that's my girl. Your memory will be alive in my heart and soul until the day that we are together again as Father and Daughter. I love you Daddy.

When I think of Joe, two things come to mind: him quickly identifying a Neapolitan wine because of its "bite" and the time he taught me to appreciate Carlo Rossi Hearty Burgundy. He'll never be forgotten. May he rest in peace with a great glass of red.

Well,,JoJo,,you were the first of the Lombardo cousins to be called "home". We have not seen each other that much of late,,but you are still my cousin JoJo,,and I will miss your laugh and the twinkle in your eye when we spoke of guns and hunting. You are now with your father,,my Uncle Joe,,and someday all of us will be together again. May you rest in peace and happiness forever.

Hey Mr. Lombardo,
You brought into this world three beautiful daughters, one of which will always have a place in my heart. I want to thank you for that and for being the man that you are. You were a friend and a co-worker to me but so much more for your beautiful family. You will always be missed but never forgotten. God bless you and your family. Thanks for the memories....
