Joe and I were best of friends way back to when we were kids in the 50's on Percy Street in North Philly. I still have countless memories of playing all kinds of street games such as box ball, touch football, half ball, wireball, etc. with "Loop" and a bunch of other kids in the neighborhood. I also remember both his parents and his sisters when they were nuns. All of them were loving, caring people.

When Joe was a priest he even baptized my niece Tracey in Norristown in the 60's. Later when Joe left the priesthood and married Cathy, my wife and I got together with them for lunch, and since then Joe and I usually periodically spoke of the good old days on the phone. I am sorry that I didn't phone him for quite some time to share some thoughts before he left us. I will truly miss him, but will always remember him for the great person and friend that he was.

My deepest condolences to Kathy, Paul, Robert, and the entire family on Joe's passing. Although it's been a long time since I've seen him, whenever I think back on Joe, he always has a smile on his face. My faith tells me, he will always be with you in spirit, and he will always be smiling.
