Joseph Robert McDaniel

Lucasville - Joseph Robert "Joe" McDaniel, 62, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Lucasville, Ohio. Born on June 10, 1962, in Marion, Ohio, Joe lived a life defined by service, dedication, and a lasting connection to his home state.

A graduate of Ridgedale High School in Marion, Class of 1980, Joe went on to attend the Ohio State University's Marion branch. His pursuit of knowledge led to a successful career in telecommunications. He held managerial roles with Nextel in Baltimore, Maryland, and later at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he brought leadership and professionalism to every position he held.

Joe proudly served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Andrews Air Force Base. He attained the rank of Sergeant before receiving an honorable discharge. His military service reflected his strong sense of duty and discipline-qualities that shaped both his personal and professional life.

A devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Joe carried his Buckeye pride wherever life took him. His loyalty to his team was a constant reminder of his roots and the values he held dear.

He is remembered with love by his sisters Rose McDaniel of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Linda (Andrew) Brenkus of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his niece Jessica (Charles) Stevens; and great-niece Melanie (Tristen) Purnia-all of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his father Earl McDaniel; mother Clodie (Lundy) McDaniel; and brother Michael McDaniel-all of Lucasville.

A memorial service will be held in Lucasville, Ohio at a later date.
