Joseph McLaughlin, Jr., 80, of West Haven, CT, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025. Born on August 4, 1945, in New Haven, CT, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor McLaughlin. He spent most of his childhood years in Warwick and Cranston, Rhode Island. Joe moved to West Haven with his parents when he was in the 10th grade and graduated from West Haven High School in 1963. After high school, Joe attended college at the University of New Haven. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration and began a career in the freight transportation industry which spanned 53 years. Joe spent 42 of those years as a salesperson; a position he truly enjoyed.
Joe was the beloved husband of the late Beverly McLaughlin. He is survived by his loving daughter, Maureen McLaughlin-Martin (Michael) and his devoted son, Joseph (Sherri) McLaughlin, III of Dedham, MA. Joe was also the adoring grandfather of Joseph, IV and Ryan McLaughlin of Dedham, MA. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, September 28th, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Vianney Church, St. John XXIII Parish, 300 Captain Thomas Blvd., West Haven on Monday, September 29th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, West Haven.
