Gene Raymond Wetzel

1945 - 2023

Gene Raymond Wetzel, 78, of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, on Friday July 28th, 2023. He is survived by his wife Rosie Wetzel, his two daughters Cheri Gerardi, Gina Wetzel, grandson, Scott Milligan, his brother, sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Gene served four years in the Air Force where he was stationed in Germany as a Military Policeman. After serving his country, Gene attended the University of Baltimore and then worked at Westinghouse for a brief period before he found his niche in car sales where he was known as "Crain Highway Gene" by everyone in the car business. Gene enjoyed racing boats, boating, golfing, playing pool, and his lunches with his special group of friends. Gene was devoted to various fundraisings over the years for Hospice of the Chesapeake, Take Back Our Streets, and Angels Haven of Glen Burnie. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the family owned and operated MCCULLY POLYNIAK & COLLINS FUNERAL HOME 3204 Mountain Road PASADENA on Thursday, August 3, 2023, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Jane Frances Church 8499 Virginia Avenue PASADENA on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 10 am. Interment Crownsville Veterans Cemetery on Monday August 14, 2023, at 10:45 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake.
