Joseph E. Mercer, 17, resident of Brownwood Life Care Center, Fort Smith, Arkansas, died March 16, 2025. The beloved son of Kevin and Angelia Mercer of Van Buren, Arkansas, and brother of Adah, Asher, and Jeremy Mercer, Joseph was a light to all who knew him. He was known for his "Elvis smile" and beautiful auburn red hair but more importantly his sweet temperament, mischievous sense of humor, and strong love of life! His memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Gene Mercer, Thomas and Edna Hyde, Dion and Nannie Nicholson, and James and Naoda Little, his great aunts Mary Sholty, Betty Wiggins, and Nancy Dudley, and great uncles Hobson Nicholson and Ted Nicholson.
Services will be held at Lewis Funeral Home, 4817 Kelley Hwy, Fort Smith, AR on Tuesday, March 18 beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow.
All donations in honor of Joseph can be sent to Brownwood Life Care Center, checks made payable to "BLCC Community Account", 7500 Wells Lake Rd, Fort Smith, AR 72916.
