Joseph A. Mitchell

Joseph Alan Mitchell, 48, of Aurora, Colo., died on Dec. 31, 2010, in Aurora. He was born on Aug. 14, 1962, in Munising, son of Joan (Millay) Mitchell and the late Duane Mitchell. Joseph attended schools in Butte, Mont. and graduated from Butte Central High School. He served six years in the U.S. Air Force and then worked 24 years in the health club business. Joseph loved to play golf and go fishing. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He had a very outgoing personality and had many friends. Joseph is survived by his daughter, Madison; his mother, Joan Mitchell of Kingsford; his brothers, David, Terence, Russell, and Robert Mitchell; his sister, Lori Thompson; nine nephews; six nieces; a very special friend and cousin, Ward Mitchell Jr., and uncle, Arthur Mitchell; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Duane, in 1995. Services were held in Aurora, Colo. and burial will be held in the spring at Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
