Indian Land -

Joseph J. Mnick, Jr., a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 20, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished memories. His departure is mourned by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched during his time on this Earth.

Born June 7, 1937, Joe was a remarkable individual who lived a life of integrity, kindness, and devotion. He was a pillar of strength for his loved ones and a source of inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Throughout his life, Joe valued family above all else. He was a devoted husband to Irene, his loving partner and best friend. Together, they built a foundation of love, trust, and shared experiences that will forever be treasured. He was a doting father to his son Jeff and daughter Stacey, providing unwavering support and guidance. His passion was his children and grandchildren and he could be seen at almost every sporting event or extra curricular activity.

Joe was a 1955 graduate of Williamsport High School. In 1959, he graduated from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA with a BS in Mathematics. He was also a member of the football team. Joe served proudly as a captain in the United States Marine Corps. At the time of his death, he was a parishioner at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Indian Land, SC.

Professionally, Joe was a dedicated sales executive with the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, retiring June 30, 1999. He excelled in his field with expertise, diligence, and a strong work ethic. He approached his career with passion and integrity, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. His commitment to excellence and his ability to mentor and inspire others left an indelible mark on the lives of those with which he worked.

As we bid farewell to Joe Mnick, may we celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the profound impact he had on our lives. His legacy of love, kindness, and strength will forever be etched in our hearts.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Irene H. Mnick, his children Jeffrey J. Mnick and Stacey Mnick Vinson, his brother Thomas Mnick, and his grandchildren Cameron Vinson, Tanner Vinson, Haley Mnick and Pierce Mnick. He also leaves behind a network of extended family members, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory.

May Joe's soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us to live our lives with the same love, kindness, and strength that he exemplified. May he rest in peace. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Dear Gene,
Thank you so much for your message. Yes, this is my Dad! After his departure from the Marines, he started with Bethlehem Steel in 1962 and stayed with them for over 35 years. I didn't see your email or a way to respond to your post so I hope you see this. My email is [email protected] Would love to hear from you and thank you for reaching out; it was so special to hear from you. My parents lived in Wilmington and moved to be close to me 6 years ago so I could help take care of them.

Just read this obituary for this gentleman. Did not know him. However a few years ago, I bought a used small table brass clock in a shop in Wilmington NC. On the clock is the name Joseph J Mnick Jr. It was given to him by Bethlehem Steel for 30 years of service on July 9, 1962. Can't be same person, but amazingly they have same name and same
company. If someone from the family reads this, and has any idea what is the answer to this mystery, they can e-mail me. I will send them a photo or two of the clock. Not looking to sell, but would help send to family if belongs there. Kinda heavy.
Sorry for your loss of this gentleman. Gene
