It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend Joseph "Joe" Notaro, who died peacefully in his home exactly where he wanted to be surrounded by those he loved. A truly devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Joe lived a full and meaningful life, characterized by dedication to his family and service to his country.
Joe's life was a beautiful love story with his wife, Joan (Behr) Notaro, to whom he was married for an incredible 66 years. Their enduring partnership was a true testament to commitment, built on shared laughter, unwavering support, and a deep, abiding love.
A proud veteran, Joe bravely served his country during the Korean War. His time in service instilled in him a strong sense of duty and discipline that he carried throughout his life.

Joe was a proud and devoted Catholic, whose faith was a quiet bedrock of his life. He had a passion for all music: especially Big Band, opera, Jazz, musical sound tracks, and Sinatra. He was an ardent fan of college football, faithfully cheering on his beloved Nittany Lions through every season. Joe and Joan also cherished their time away from the cold, loving to spend their winter in sunny Florida.

He was the cherished father of three children: Michele "Mickey" (Greg Keith) Notaro, Suzie (Rob) Hughes, Eydeann "Eyde" (John Humbles) Notaro; the beloved "Pap" to five grandchildren: Rachael, Liberti, Sarah, Michael J. and the late Jessica and the adored great-grandfather of six great-grandchildren: Bobby, Lilli, Emersyn "Emmy", Steven, Rynnlee the late Jasella. Joe's greatest joy was his family, and he took immense pride in watching his legacy grow. His presence at every holiday, birthday, family reunions, and special occasion will be deeply missed. Though he is gone, his legacy lives on not only in memory, but in the very fiber of their being. The honor and tireless work ethic he taught them are the unbreakable thread that will forever bind and guide their journey.

He was a man of unwavering integrity, compassion and kindness. Joe had a truly generous heart, one that found its deepest purpose in helping others. He was the dependable hand, ready to help anyone who needed it, leaving a legacy of simple, profound goodness.

Friends and family will be received Thursday October 23, 2025 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10:30AM at St. Teresa Church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish.
