Joseph Clayton Pelland

1968 - 2023

Joseph Clayton "Clay" Pelland, passed away on June 6, 2023, in his hometown of Dothan. Born on March 21, 1968, Clay was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Clay is survived by his wife of 23 years, Shari; his mother, Paula; his children, Ethan, Olivia, and Whit; his sister, Ashley McKnaught; his mother-in-law, Michelle Melanson; and his father-in-law, Wendell Frith; Cornelia Synco and a host of other relatives and friends.
A lover of the outdoors, Clay enjoyed fishing and skeet shooting, often sharing these passions with his family and friends. He was also a music enthusiast, with a diverse taste that ranged from classic rock to country. Clay's love for all things Jeep was well-known, and he could often be found working on his prized Jeep or taking it for a spin on the open road.
Clay's devotion to his dogs was a testament to his kind and loving nature. He treated them as members of the family and ensured they were always well-cared for and loved. Clay's loyalty extended to his favorite sports team, Alabama Football, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer them on.
Clay's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, courage, and kindness will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his life.
A Celebration of Clay's life will be held at 2 PM, Friday, June 16, 2023 at First Baptist Church Dothan. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, prior to the service.
