Obituary For Joseph Pellicone

Joseph Leonard Pellicone, affectionately known as Joe, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, just three days before his 80th birthday. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he moved to Staten Island in 1966. Joe was a NYC Transit bus driver for 26 years, retiring in 1995.

Joe will be remembered for his lively personality, his quick wit, and his love of trivia. He was never a know-it-all, but he had a gift for recalling facts and stories that made time with him both fun and memorable. He enjoyed watching TV and movies, trying new local restaurants, and spending time with his family. In his younger years, Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening and home improvement projects. He was a car enthusiast and always wanted to own a classic car. After retirement, he enjoyed visiting Florida with his wife.

Joe always brought humor and warmth to every gathering. He loved a good meal, a good scotch, and good laugh.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Joan; his three loving daughters, Denise Pellicone, Debra Falco, and Josette Vitolo; his son-in-law Joseph Vitolo; and his adored grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, and Matthew Falco, and Isabella Vitolo. He is also survived by his sister, Cathy, and brother-in-law, Donald Sbordone and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Santo and Sadie Pellicone, and his son-in-law, Al Falco. Joe will be fondly remembered by his beloved "grand-dogs" Sonny, Freddy, and Rudy, who brought him endless joy.

Joe's legacy of love, laughter, and family devotion will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Joe's memory to Parker House at Landing Lane, 501 Easton Ave. New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
