Missing my old friend and bandmate.

I haven´t interacted with Joe in 50+ years, but the immediacy of his presence has not diminished over time. At heart he was such a gentle person, even though he loved a good argument: couldn´t he always debate either side of everything, and relish it. Utterly creative and innovative, you never knew what was coming next. He constantly approached life and its big questions in startling, often delightful ways. That´s the Joe I know, and will miss.
