Born and educated in New London, Joseph attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs before serving honorably in the United States Army. He worked for Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics in many capacities, retiring as a supervisor of purchasing in 1995. He went on to be a consultant for Diversified Metals, Inc.
A passionate boater, fisherman and golfer, Joseph was a former member of Shennecossett Golf Course in Groton and an active member of Quail Run Golf Club in Naples, Fla., where he enjoyed the camaraderie and social life among many dear friends.
He will be deeply missed for his quick wit and irreverent sense of humor, which - though not always politically correct - made him effortlessly relatable and a joy to be around. His ability to lighten any moment and connect with people from all walks of life was a gift that left a lasting impression.
