Condolences to Joe's family: siblings, in-laws, and grand-kiddo's. As a 1970 LHS classmate of Joe, remember Joe more at all our Class Reunions. He always brought his whiley smile and connected with everyone. Most recently, was our Class Reunion - Oct. 2022 in Libertyville. Joe was front center, photo-bombing all the multiple small group pics taken, and left us with laughter and big smiles!

Joe was the big brother I always wanted, he was so kind to a girl that to him was just his kid sisters friend, he would always chat with us and makes us laugh and never made a feel like a bother.
Joe had a heart as big as the sky, may his reunions in heaven be grand

My oldest brother Joe was there to save me many times in my life. When I was 3 years old I scrambled up onto a tractor and saw the key, and started it! Joe was nearby and climbed up to turn it off. He was 6. It´s my very first memory. Then there was the time in Wisconsin at my grandma´s cottage when a friend and I were maybe 13 and were making remarks to young men who were heading into the bar next door at Casey´s. Two of them started to chase us. I came running in to the back room where we slept and Joe jumped to the alert, locked the door and hid me under the bed.
On a New Year´s Eve long ago when I was in college my friend and I got stuck in heavy snow while visiting him. He got out some chains and put them on my tires to get the car moved to the street. Several times since I was married he took us to the airport, and retrieved us when I or my family were going overseas. And, he took care of our cars!
This brother even fixed my car one winter when I came home to visit and the heater had quit working. It was a gift not to have to bundle up in blankets to keep warm on the 5 hour trip home.
And, there were others.
But when I stop to think what I ever did for him,... the only thing I can come up with is I babysat a couple times when his kids were little. Not much.
I loved my brother and I will continue to miss him as long as I live. Rest Peacefully, Joe. Kathi your sister
