Joseph E. Smith, age 70 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born March 22, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Joseph Smith and Shirley Brandenburg. He worked for over 26 years as an Auto Mechanic and Owner and Operator of Smith and Sons Automotive. Joseph loved classic cars and motorcycles. He was an avid football fan, especially the Cleveland Browns. Joseph loved his pets and had many beloved pet dogs over the years. He will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Joseph Smith; Mother, Shirley Brandenburg; and Step-Father, Ralph "Shorty" Brandenburg.
Joseph is survived by his Sons, William J. Smith, and Robert A. Smith; Grandson, Joseph Smith; Ex-Wife and Friend, Amy M. Smith; Marilyn Smith the mother of his two sons; Kelly Smith; and by numerous other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Hospice of Dayton.
