My partner was one of his first patients at a time when gay people faced so much discrimination and prejudice. He passed away a year later, but we were so grateful for his compassion and openness. I send my condolences to his family and friends, my thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.

As a person LIVING with AIDS , I can't tell you how grateful I am to those who worked hard to save me , and others LIVING with AIDS .
I was diagnosed with full blown AIDS in 1995 , given 3 months to live , and with the Protease Inhibitors and the hard work and science behind them , here I am . Thank you Joseph Sonnabend for my life, and for everything .

What an compassionate doctor. It’s hard to find them these days. We pray that God continues to strengthen and comfort his family and friends during this extremely difficult time.
