Joe hired me at World Bank, was my first supervisor and we always stayed connected throughout my career there. He was my boss, then my friend and we shared our Christian faith, encouraging each other through some tough times. He supported me and encouraged me, and I will never forget him. I can picture him wrapped in the arms of his Saviour, who says, "Well done, good & faithful servant"

Uncle Joe was my godfather and mentor. What a charismatic storyteller and passionate Christian. He never forgot my birthday, not once in 43 years. He is truly beloved and I am glad he is now watching over me.

My first memory of Joe harkens back to around 1972 when my brother, Larry Tychsen, brought Joe home from Georgetown to meet the family. From that moment, we considered that Joe belonged to us, too.
In 1983, I asked him to sing at my wedding and in 1988 he helped provide music for our baby's baptism. Still marvel at Joe's generous response, since both requests were made on very short notice!
I feel so blessed to have known this beloved brother in Christ and give thanks for his life.

To Joe's sisters and family, My thoughts and prayers are with you all-Joe was an Ambassador for God-he was so kind, and funny, interesting, and good. A true friend and gentleman. I think we all have a new advocate, intercessor, and "saint: in heaven. Love you, Joe!
"So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you." John 16:22
