Joseph Daniel Stewart, 42, of Smiths Station, AL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday night, June 26, 2024, in Smiths Station, AL.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm, Friday, July 5, 2024, at First Assembly of God Church in Phenix City with Pastor Nelson Lugo and Rev. Michael Greer officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at the church. Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Greer, Josh Greer, Evan Davis, Tyler Eiland, Alan McClure, and Skip Hansberger.
Joseph was born August 30, 1981, in Columbus, GA. He is the son of Phillip Stewart and Mickey Greer Marsh. He was employed as a construction supervisor with Home Solutions, Inc. in Phenix City, AL. Joseph loved the simple things in life and cherished God’s nature. He enjoyed hiking, climbing mountains, fishing and all sorts of water activities. He loved being with people and the joy and camaraderie of his many friendships. He loved spending time with his family and participating in family gatherings. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide and sports fan. Joseph was a man of faith; he was a Christian and enjoyed studying his Bible and attended First Assembly of God Church in Phenix City.
He was preceded in death by both his grandfathers, James Stewart and Lewis Greer; cousin, Daniel Heath Eiland and aunt, Denise Greer.
Left to cherish his memories is his father, Phillip Stewart and wife Tammy; his mother, Mickey Greer Marsh and husband Mike; grandmothers, Carolyn Stewart and Joyce Greer; three sisters, Eliza Carmen Rodriguez and husband Francisco, Alexa Marsh, and Kimberly Jones; two brothers, Brad Hodges and wife Jennifer, and Kevin Hall; nephew and nieces, Oliver Carmen, Angela Hall, and Sara Hall; aunts and uncles, Rev. Michael Greer, Melanie Davis (Rusty), David Stewart (Cathy), Angie Mixon, Cecelia Welch (Mike), and Sonya Eiland; numerous cousins, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.
