Joseph “Joe” Calvin Stubbs, age 87, of Durham, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
Joe was born in Chatham County, on September 12, 1936, to the late Donald Rufus Stubbs and Lucille Tickle Stubbs. He was also preceded in death by three brothers Bill Stubbs, Don Stubbs, and Louis Stubbs.
Surviving relatives include his wife Margaret Stubbs, son Calvin Stubbs of Morrisville, daughters Pamela Dempsey and husband Stanley of Durham, Jo Ann Skipper and husband Tony of Stem; step-grandson Bryan Dempsey of Burlington; two brothers Roger Stubbs and wife Martha of Pittsboro; and Tommy Stubbs and wife Carolyn of Oxford.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Hudson Funeral Home Chapel.
Entombment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Officiating will be Reverend Craig Willingham.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Joe’s memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
