Joseph Tafur Obituary
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Joseph "Joey" Thomas Tafur, age 20, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 22, 2023.
Joey was born in Albany on November 22, 2002, and was a graduate of the class of 2020 at Columbia High School in East Greenbush. After graduation he moved to North Fort Myers, Fla. Joey was an avid gamer, enjoyed camping in Lake George, played the trumpet, and played lacrosse and football all throughout middle and high school. He was the greatest fan of the Seattle Seahawks and even had the chance to see them play the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium. Joey will always be remembered for his athleticism, storytelling, and fearless spirit which made it easy for him to make many friends at school and in his community.
Joey is survived by his loving mother, Jana Marie Hoffman; and his father, Thomas Wayne Tafur and his wife, Deborah. He was the beloved brother of Nicole Marie Montello and Michelle Lyn Tafur, and Thomas Joseph Tafur. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The wake will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St., Nassau. The funeral Mass will be on Monday, January 30, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 26 Church St., Nassau.
