Dear Dottie, Joe, Amy and family,
There are no words of comfort during a time of such enormous loss. It was an honor and privilege to know Joe and to have such fiond memories of him. Although we aren't blood, he was part of our family. We will forever be grateful for having a chance to know Joe. He was kind, caring and an all around great man. We will always remember his kindness and never forget that with each conversation we came out a bit smarter. His love for his family was enormous and he was so proud of each of you. May time ease your heartache and may you find comfort in your memories.
Love,
Jeff, Lori, Marissa and Luke

Nothin' But Net
The perfect shot, nothing but net
The ball flies in a perfect high arc
everyone watches, knowing that it's in.
The ball hits exactly in the center
touching every string but nothing else,
lingering but a moment.
Then gone with a swish.
To me, this is how I remember Joe.
My Brother, my Hero, my Friend.
He touched everyone that he met.
He helped me when I needed it and
listened when I just needed to talk.
I shall always remember him as
the perfect brother, the perfect shot.
Nothin' but net.

When I saw the obituary in this morning's newspaper, my first thought was that, well this must be a mistake. Not Joe...the sweetest man in the world! Oh Dottie, I am so so sorry for you and for your family. Joe was a truly beautiful person and will be deeply missed by all, I know. Please accept my deepest and most sincere sympathy.
from your loving cousin, Margarete
