Joseph Claude Trahan, Sr., born on September 4, 1945, in Abbeville, passed away at the age of 79 on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. He is the son of Anthony Trahan and Dorothy Treadaway Trahan.
Joseph "Joe" was a veteran in the Army National Guard. He was a father to four children, grandfather to 13 grandchildren, and great grandfather to 14 great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Angela Trahan Tate of Arkansas, Joseph C Trahan, Jr. (Polly) of Lafayette, Jessica Trahan Gaspard (David) of Kaplan, and Christopher "Chris" Trahan (Amy) of Kaplan; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elizabeth "Liz" Childers, Joyce Thibodeaux, Bonnie Trahan, and Daisy Trahan; and three brothers, John Trahan, Robert Trahan, and Patrick Trahan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Trahan, Jr. and the former Dorothy Treadaway; one sister, Patricia Ann Trahan; and his companion, Colleen Rogers.
A funeral service officiated by Deacon Jules Breaux will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 02, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the services at 1:00 PM, with a rosary at 10:00 AM.
