Joseph E. Tynes, 83, of Brandon, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in Flowood, Mississippi.
A memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Brandon Baptist Church with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Joe was born on September 25, 1942, in Columbia, Mississippi, to Quin Tynes and Hallie Vera Mangum Tynes. He graduated high school from Topeka Tilton in Monticello. In 1962, he married Linda Faye Simpson, and together they had two children and shared 63 loving years of marriage. He and Linda are members of Brandon Baptist Church. In his professional life, he worked as a salesperson for WJTV before pursuing a career as a home builder. An avid golfer, he played the game for over 50 years and made at least two holes in one. More than anything, he loved his family.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Quin and Hallie Tynes; son, Joseph Vincent Tynes; and brothers, Thomas Glen Tynes and Walter Pete Tynes.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Faye Tynes; daughter, Stephanie Burroughs (Geoff); grandchildren, Zach Massey, Logan Massey, Quin Tynes, and Mia Tynes; seven great grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Jean Tynes.
