Joseph E. Volk Jr.

1949 - 2026

Joseph E. Volk Jr., 76, of Harmar Township, passed away March 24, 2026. He was born on Sept. 15, 1949, and was a lifelong member of the community. Mr. Volk worked for Allegheny Ludlum, where he eventually retired. Joe enjoyed reading, walking, and watching Jeopardy and the Pittsburgh sports teams. He especially liked tending to his flower garden and vegetables. Surviving him are his daughters, Tara (Edward) Matis of Vandergrift and Tori O'Malley of Kittanning; stepson, William Ryan of Harmar; brother, Michael Volk of Ford City; and grandchildren, Marin Beck, Ethan Egley, and Caleb Hilty. Besides his parents, Mr. Volk was preceded by his loving wife, Ruth Ann (Hocmuth) Volk, in 2023; as well as several brothers and sisters.
