Joseph Allen Westmoreland

Joseph Allen Westmoreland, 69, of Palm Desert, CA, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Batesburg, SC, on September 29, 1955, he was a son of the late Frankie Westmoreland and Grace Berry Westmoreland. Mr. Joseph was a family man who lived in Ohio and California. He was a truck driver for over 35 years, who loved watching football, cheering on the SC Gamecocks, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Surviving are his wife, Julia "Beth" Westmoreland; children, Allen Westmoreland (CeCe), Angie Howard (Bubba), Grace Westmoreland, Mary Westmoreland, and Joe Westmoreland; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Dale Westmoreland (Melissa), Steve Westmoreland (Melissa), Lynn Williams, and Melinda Harris (Timmy); stepsister, Dedra Kinard; stepmother, Carolyn Westmoreland; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Mr. Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock, on August 9th, at Summerland Church, 343 Summerland Ave, Batesburg, SC 29006, with Rev. Ray Massey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in honor of Mr. Joseph to a charity of one's choice.
