Josefina Rolon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boyd Funeral Home - Camden on Feb. 5, 2026.
Josefina Rolon was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico on August 27, 1936, to the late Zoilo Ortiz

and Epifania Davila. She had one sister and seven brothers; she is survived by her brother

Angel. Josefina peacefully departed to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 3rd, 2026.

Josefina met the love of her life, Orlando Rolon, when she was 18 years old, whom she

married in 1956. Together they had five children whom she devoted her life and love;

Orlando Rolon Jr., (Brenda), Joe Rolon, (Tita), Luis Rolon deceased (Patty), Marilyn Rolon,

Moises Rolon, (Nancy). She was a devoted grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 27 great

grandchildren.

Josefina was a resident of Camden for over 50 where she and her husband raised their

family in the fear of God. She served the Lord all her life and enjoyed helping others in

need. She was a resilient, optimistic and outspoken person and shared the word of God

with anyone she encountered; it didn't matter what trial or tribulation she was facing she

always trusted in the Lord and showed a positive attitude.

Josefina, better known as 'Rolona" by her church family and friends, enjoyed cooking and

was very good at it. She completed a Culinary Art Program and worked at the Head Start

Program in Camden. Whenever there was a gathering, she always offered to cook and

never a little bit but in abundance. She used to make groceries and prepare bags for some

of her neighbors and others in need. In her younger years Mami, was very active in Church;

she was a missionnettes' and Sunday school teacher, seamstress and her home was

always open to host the missionaries.

Rolona was determined to continue to drive until her children had to take away the keys,

which upset her very much as she didn't want to depend on others. We will miss our

mother and will have a void in our hearts; however, we are confident that she is in the

presence of our Lord.
