Josephine Betteridge passed away on July 17th, 2023 at her home in Covington at the age of 86.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Terence Betteridge. She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Bob) Miller and son, Paul (Elaine) Betteridge,  her Grandchildren Bo Miller, Scott Miller (Jiranee), Allison Lailhengue (PJ), Sarah Betteridge her sister Sue (Dave) Tennant, and her 4 great grandchildren.    Jo was born and raised in London, England, and then travelled to live in many countries in the world with Terry. Jo loved to socialize and belonged to many organizations in these countries to share her knowledge of needlework. Cross stitch was her favorite. She spent many years in Royal Palm Beach, FL where she went to the dog park every day because her real passion was taking care of the animals. Jo could be found feeding the ducks at the park , picking up the waste and also pine cones and twigs to save the animals from harm, or filling up all the water bowls. She would always say “I just love all animals so much.”
Jo never met a stranger and was the life of every party. She turned heads in every room she entered with her vibrant personality and purest soil. She instantly made you feel seen and heard. Jo had impeccable style and moved through life with grace. She was unapologetically herself all the time and leaves many hearts full with laughter and joy as their last memories of her. Her stories were ones for the ages and most we will never forget. Jo wouldn't want us to be sad, so we won't be. Instead, we will remember her for the beautiful and charming person that she was.    In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to your local animal shelter in the name of Jo Betteridge or to Passages Hospice, as the experience with Passages was nothing short of wonderful.  Passages donations can be mailed to Passages Hospice 2111 N Causeway Blvd Mandeville LA 70471     --
