Josephine Marie Frazier

Josephine Marie Rymer Frazier, affectionately known to many as "Josie or Jo" passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 96, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 29, 1928, in Cleveland, TN. Josephine had a successful career as a hairdresser for 32 years. She was a member of the Cleveland Hairdressers Association and was able to travel all over the world with her friends and co-workers.

She was a devoted and lifelong member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the church choir, taught Sunday School and led the children's choir, "The Joymakers" for many years.

She enjoyed visiting the sick and shut ins in her community and was known to have a loaf of her homemade sour dough bread with her. She was a hospice volunteer and long-time board member of Bradley Healthcare & Rehab.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, William Ronald Frazier; parents Arthur Kimbrough Rymer & Naomi Daffron Rymer; stepmother Rita Rymer; brothers James Rymer (Evelyn) & Louis Rymer (Doris).

She is survived by her children: David Frazier (Marilyn), Benjamin Frazier (Janice) and daughter in love Sandra Frazier Ward; grandchildren: Stephanie Frazier, Michelle Frazier Haney (Carl), Andrew Frazier (Tracy), Heather Frazier Charles, Carmen Frazier Cartwright (Chris); great grandchildren: Taylor Haney Ellis (Brandon), Grant Charles (Lydia), Ethan Frazier (Cami), Luke Haney (Desiree), Faith Frazier Roberts (Joe), Camlyn Cartwright & Carlee Cartwright; Great-great grandchildren: Maci Ellis, Emery Haney, Hayes Frazier & Beau Haney. In addition to these, she leaves behind several nieces and nephews, her cousin and absolute best friend Thelma Massengale Scoggins aka "sister."

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 5:00 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Companion Funeral Home (Ridge Chapel); as well as Monday, November 24, 2025, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with service immediately following. Graveside for immediate family at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in her honor.
