Josephine (Zeughardt) Moloney, 99, of Altoona, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 11, 2025. Josephine was born in Ronco, PA, daughter of Hugo and Jennie (Capouillez) Zeughardt on August 10, 1925. She married John E. Moloney on June 18, 1949, he preceded her in death on April 28, 1991. She is survived by eight children: Mary, Margaret (Joe DeAntonio) Misitano, Sarah (Bill) Crist and Michael (Kim) Moloney all of Altoona; Carolyn (Patrick) Harrison of Walla Walla, WA; Kathleen (Mark) Counsman and John (Susan) Moloney both of Camp Hill; and Colleen (John Cogan) Moloney of East Norriton; 8 grandchildren: Christine (Jason) Beals of Mount Holly Springs, Frank Misitano of Altoona, Kristy Lynn Misitano of Ypsilanti, MI; Aimee (Paul) Bucci and Jennifer (Lane) Brody all of Mechanicsburg and Jenny (Daniel) Nichols of Midland. The extended family includes, Sierra Reigle, Erin and Miriah Benson and Michael Crist; 10 great-grandchildren: Isaac (Jenna) Staats of Rochester, NY; Isabella and Luca Bucci and Keira Brody all of Mechanicsburg; Lydia, Finley and Ronin Nichols of Midland, and Nicolas of Altoona; sister-in-law, Mary Triana of North East; cousins: Yvonne Dempsie of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; Carol and George Watt, and Buddy and Donna Capouillez of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sister: Willie (Emma) and George Zeughardt and Rose Mae (Robert) Duclo; and son-in-law, Frank Misitano. Josephine attended school and was raised in Dysart. She retired at age 75 after 30 years of working at Boyers Candy. She had previously worked at Vincent Horowitz Shoe Company, Altoona Shoe Company and the A&P bakery. She enjoyed gardening, word search, westerns, country music and time with her family. She was a long-time member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Friends and family will be received Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Rose Hill Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 10 a.m., Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Msgr. Stanley Carson celebrant. Committal Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Josephine’s memory to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, 4771 E. Loop Rd., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648; Saint Vincent DePaul Needs Office, 1215 7th Ave., Altoona, PA 16602; or to your favorite charity.
