Josephine worked for Connecticut Savings Bank for many years. She was the first female Vice President of the East Haven Grid Iron Club. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and tending to her vegetable garden over the years.
Josephine is survived by her loving children Joseph and Susan Ponzillo, her siblings Anthony (Eleanor-Deceased) Rosario, and Emilio (Sue) DiBenedetto, and Leanora "Lee" DeLoughery (Robert Deceased). Her grandchildren who adored her John and Matthew Ponzillo and her great grandson Dominic Paul. She was predeceased by her siblings, Sam (Marge) DiBenedetto, Virgilio (Margaret) DiBenedetto, and Adeline Nelson.
Calling hours will be held on Friday October 24, 2025 from 8:30am-10:00am with a parlor service at 10:00 at East Haven Memorial Funeral Home 425 Main St East Haven, CT 06512. Burial will follow immediately, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband at East Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Josephines name can be made to Hartford Healthcare Hospice at Home- https://hartfordhealthcareathome.org/donate
