Josh Anthony Gomez, 35, passed away on March 23, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born on May 22, 1989, in Fort Worth, Texas, and loved being born in Texas, a place he held close to his heart.
Josh was a devoted son, brother, father, uncle, and friend whose greatest joy was being surrounded by family. His laughter was infectious, filling every room with warmth, and his presence brought strength and comfort to those who knew him. Whether cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, getting lost in his favorite songs, or barbecuing with his family, he embraced life with passion and a big heart.
Through every challenge, Josh faced life with resilience and unwavering love. Even in the midst of his battle, he remained positive about life and death, finding strength in his faith and the love of those around him. His brothers stood by his side through countless doctor visits, a testament to the deep bonds he nurtured throughout his life.
He adored his daughters, Gladyce Palacios and Sophya Gomez Morales, and his love for them was immeasurable. He was also a beloved uncle, pouring love and affection into his nieces and nephews. He cherished the role of being an uncle. He will be especially missed this year, as he won’t be around to enjoy his Easter basket or celebrate Father’s Day, both moments he looked forward to with joy and love.
He is survived by his mother, Rosa Gomez; his daughters, Gladyce Palacios and Sophya Gomez Morales; his brothers, Abel Perez, Dean Gomez, Eric Gomez, Evie Perez, Jesse Gomez, Tony Gomez, Esequiel Gomez, and Esequiel Perez; and his sisters, Ensenada Reyna, Laura Edwards, and Rosa Elmore. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold his memory close.
Josh was preceded in death by his father, Esequiel Perez Jr.; his grandparents, Silvia Duque, Martin Duque, Eloisa Perez, and Esequiel Perez Sr.; and his nephew, Michael Elmore.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Josh’s life will be held on April 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Nueva Vida Funeral Home, located at 1000 Pioneer Pkwy in Arlington, Texas.
Though his time here was too short, Josh’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His light will continue to shine in every cherished memory and moment of love he leaves behind.
