Josh Benjamin Jones was born on April 29, 1939, in Piper, Alabama, to William and Clarine Jones. He called Helena home and had recently moved to Long Beach from Slidell, Louisiana, to be closer to family. A devoted husband and father, Josh was also a lifelong entrepreneur. Together, he and Becky owned and operated a successful water purification company for more than 40 years. A creative and inventive mind, Josh was the holder of several U.S. patents, a testament to his curiosity, ingenuity, and drive to make things better. Josh proudly served his country as an Army veteran of the Korean War, stationed on the front line at Ascom, Korea. He passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi, at the age of 86.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tabitha Bama Jones; his son, Joseph Lee Jones; his parents, William and Clarine Jones; and his brother, Phillip Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth McQueen "Becky" Jones; his daughters, Kimberly Jones Bonner and April Jones Smith; five grandchildren, Jack Thompson, Ashley Thompson Moore, Katie Crace, Alexander Fischer, and Khristin Woessner; and two great-grandchildren, Silas and Skylar Carlisle. He is also survived by his siblings, Arnold Jones, Dixie Jones Snowden, Alice Jones Hall, and Rita Jones Seals.

He will be remembered most for his deep love of country music and the joy he brought through song. Whether he was whistling a familiar tune or belting out his favorites for family and friends, his voice carried warmth, humor, and heart. A gifted songwriter, he penned many of his own songs - stories of life, love, and laughter told in his own unmistakable style.

Josh leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, invention, hard work, and song. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
