Joshua Isaac Patrom

Joshua Isaac Patrom born July 23rd 1993 of Springfield Missouri passed away in the early morning hours of May 21st after a long battle of mental health and substance abuse issues. Josh took his own life after finding this life too hard to bear. It pains his family deeply to have to share this news but we recognize its importance that maybe one life can be touched by the loss of our brother.
Joshua had a very hard life as a child that followed him into adulthood. He was raised in group homes, foster homes, and grandparents' houses his whole life. He was labeled a troubled child and was never adopted, but he talked highly of some foster families. Most important were Sandy and Daan of Sparta. He would want to remind folks of the need to not only foster but become mentors for troubled kids, especially in the foster care system.
Joshua's favorite role in life was Isaac's father. He loved going on drives with his son Isaac and taking him to the lake and river. Isaac was his pride and joy.
In the last year Joshua had a period of sobriety where he thrived. He got his GED and got a good job and his own place, a little loft downtown. He was known as the person that would help you fix your car if you didn't have the money. He laughed like Seth Rogan and always said "we're living in a simulation." Josh will be missed deeply, especially by his son and siblings. If you struggle with substance abuse or alcohol dependence issues or have feelings of suicide please reach out for help.
Joshua had a few passions in life and one was being a mechanic. Working on cars and driving cars fast! Doing doughnuts and burn outs like crazy, and loved showing his son how it was done.
Joshua is survived by a son, Isaac Patrom, 9 years old of Rolla MO; by four siblings: Johnny Patrom, Shawna Patrom, Cassandra Patrom and Christina Patrom, all of Springfield Missouri; by four nieces and nephews: Mason Ash, Elyjah Patrom, Mabel Patrom, and Ezlynn Patrom all of Springfield MO; aunt Teressa Belt, uncle Toby Jones of Springfield MO. Joshua was preceded in death by his mother Kimberly Patrom and Grandparents Linda Hale, Preston Hale, Evelyn Kristofferson, Wilma Raper and James Raper.
