CARLOCK – Joshua Alexander “Josh” Blank, 31, of Carlock, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023.
Joshua was born on September 29, 1992, in Peoria, Illinois, to Steve and Jodi (Sharp) Blank. He married Monica (Vargas) Blank on October 20, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Surviving are his wife, Monica Blank of Carlock; daughter, Julianna Blank of Carlock; mother and step-father, Jodi and Paul Moore of Morton; father, Steve Blank of Creve Coeur; sister, Izzi Moore of Morton; brothers, Nic (Jennifer) Sandifar of Pekin, Zac (Hannah) Blank of Peoria and Tim (Monica) Blank of Glasford; grandparents, Shirley Custer of Morton, Carol Knobloch of Morton, Jan Blank of Creve Coeur and Walter Sharp of Washington; in-laws, Ruben and Zenaida Vargas of Creve Coeur; sister-in-law, Nora Vargas of East Peoria; and brothers-in-law, Ruben (Denise) Vargas, Jr. and their children, Max and Belen of Sacramento, California and Alejandro Vargas of Creve Coeur. Josh also leaves behind his loving dog, Duncan.
Josh was a son, brother, husband and proud father. He was courageous, caring and loving to all of those around him. Joshua’s pride and joy was his baby girl Julianna and his wife Monica.
He was an exceptional father, a good friend and a loyal sibling. He always put family first.
Josh worked hard and was proud of his accomplishments. He loved the outdoors and loved to spend time at his lake. He was a fixer of all things and a DIY inventor.
Josh was a brave warrior. He impacted so many lives in numerous ways. He was a bright light that was taken before his time. Josh will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, and from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, Thursday, October 12, prior to the service, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
Memorials may be made to the Julianna Blank Fund in C/O CEFCU.
