I lost a best friend. We arrived at the House of Hope together on the exact same day separated by only ten minutes. As fate would have it, we were assigned the same room and a relationship I will always cherish thus begun.
Josh was quiet and shy at first, but we steadily began to enjoy each other's company. We loved to talk about history, made wise cracks about some of the characters we encountered, sat together at groups and outings and grew into to what we both needed. Brothers who understood each other and loved each other unconditionally.
Even once we both moved out of the HOH, we'd run into to each other. Our smiles to one another were infectious. My heart is heavy, but he would want me to never give up as I would him. Josh and I love God (He was the subject of many a long conversation). Josh will always be with me for the rest of my days. It won't be easy to walk into a familiar place and know I won't be seeing him. But it is not goodbye rather "I'll see you later my trusted friend."
In closing I'd want people to know that two men from opposite life experiences came to make an eternal friendship. My memories of our short time here on earth will pale with what lies ahead for us in Heaven. If anyone ever needs
an example of what God's glory is and how He shares it with His children, please remember Josh. He changed my life.
With Deepest Sympathy,
