Joshua Reye Campos, "JJ", 20, of Roanoke, VA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
Funeral Service: 2PM Thursday, November 9 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.
JJ was born on December 21, 2002 in
Waco, TX to Andrea Lilly Cone and Joshua Reye Campos. JJ graduated as Class Valedictorian from Northside High School of Roanoke, VA in 2021. JJ took his studies very seriously. He also graduated as a nationally certified EMT. JJ was involved in track and cross country. He also played the saxophone for his school's marching band. During summer break JJ would volunteer at Blue- ridge Christian Camp as a camp counselor. JJ went on to attend Liberty University, a private evangelical Christian school in Lynchburg, VA to further expand his education in hopes of being a successful entrepreneur.
JJ was a man of God and worked within his Church religiously. He was very passionate about spreading the Gospel of Jesus to others. JJ went on a mission trip to Haiti a few years back to spread the word of God. JJ loved the outdoors. Some of his hobbies included hiking the trails in the mountains and sailing the open water with his Grandpa Ed whom he adored so much. JJ was also very passionate about volunteering in his community. Some of the areas he volunteered were homeless shelters in assisting with serving food, and the friendship house where he would help kids with their studies. JJ was known for his beautiful smile, giving heart and kind spirit.
JJ was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward Dale Cone.
He is survived by his mother, Andrea Lilly Cone; father, Joshua Reye Campos; sisters, Alaina DeLeon and Daniel DeLeon, Liliana, Aleigha, Sapphira and Rebekah; brothers, Caleb, Josiah and Jesus; grandparents, Albert Campos and Monica Lopez; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.
