Joshua Don Larson
"His wings were ready, but our hearts were not"
On October 2, 2021, Josh was welcomed into heaven by his many family members and friends. Josh was born on August 27th, 1985, to Gregory and Tammy Larson. He was born and raised in Missoula, MT, where he attended Roosevelt Elementary, Cold Spring Elementary, Hellgate Elementary and later graduated from Big Sky High School in 2004.
Growing up in Montana, Josh had an unyielding love for the outdoors. From the time he was able to walk, he could always be found in and around the water with a fishing pole in his hand or roasting marshmallows over a campfire; where, on one occasion he managed to stick a flaming marshmallow to his forehead.
As he got older, his love for the great outdoors never faltered. His first BB gun taught him the joys of firearms, which later led to hunting elk with his dad. Josh also loved the rush that the outdoors could provide. First, through BMX racing, which quickly turned into racing around with his many great friends on anything with a motor, whether on land or water. When home, he could be found tinkering in his garage, rebuilding engines, and fixing cars.
In 2012, He met the love of his life and best friend, Chantel Newman, who has always been by his side and always lit up his life. In 2018, Josh and Chantel adopted their "Fur Baby", Ranger, whom they love endlessly. Often, Josh and Ranger could be seen driving down the road with the biggest smiles on their faces.
He lived life to the absolute fullest. He will forever be remembered for his contagious laugh, big heart and constant willingness to help those he loved and even those he did not know at all. Josh is survived by his parents, Greg and Tammy Larson; his sister, Jesse Larson; nephews Cole Savage and Payton Larson; his significant other, Chantel Newman; grandfather Glenn Larson, aunts and uncles Casey (Rebecca) Larson, Allyn (Chuck) Alden, Tami Thomas, Karyl (Tim) Clark, Rick Zander, Debbie (Ralph) Johnsrud, Brad (Dovie) Zander; cousins Ryan (Jennifer) Frost and family, Brady (Cyndi) Frost and family, Shanna Frost Cook and children, Shauna (Jake) Stueve and children, Hawlee (Miguel) Valente and children, Britta (Cody) Brown and children, Tara (Justin) Kreitel and child, Katie Clark (Mark Fallon), Trista (Dustin) Hunt and children, Barbara Greely and children, Brittany Greely, Trent and Travis Zander; and too many friends to name.
