Brownsville, TX - Joshua Michael McGuire, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 49.
Born in Whitefish, Montana, to David and Laura McGuire, Josh-as he was affectionately known-lived a life marked by devotion, resilience, generosity, and hard work. He spent most of his adult years in and around Victoria, Texas, and relocated to Brownsville, Texas, in 2020. As a truck driver, mechanic, and oil fluids yard manager, Josh traveled the highways of Texas and the rest of the United States, embracing the open road with a sense of purpose and pride.
Josh was a dedicated father who often brought his children along on his journeys-to the office, the truck yard, and the highway-teaching them history and geography, as well as the intricacies of truck mechanics and life. His love for learning and sharing was evident in every conversation.
At home, Josh did his best to make memories for his family. He enjoyed grilling outdoors and bragging about his special recipes to anyone within earshot.
His presence was steady, and his love unwavering. Even as a child, Josh had a nurturing spirit. He loved growing things and took care of those he loved with quiet devotion and instinctive kindness.
Josh is remembered by his wife, Jamie Salles; his children, Jasmine, Jade, Chad, Ryan, and young nephew Cameron; his mother, Laura; his sisters, Abigail and Elizabeth; and many others, both young and old, who crossed paths with him.
He was preceded in death by his father, David; his grandparents, Leo and Florence McGuire, and Francis and Marcella Wagner/Bowersox; and his step-grandfather, Perry Bowersox.
Josh's legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the roads he traveled. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
For those who are near and would like to remember and celebrate his life with us, there will be a viewing on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, at Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of the Heavens in Brownsville.
For those who are far, we thank you for your love and encouragement. In lieu of flowers, please consider a financial gift to his children.
