Joshua Sterrett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Serenity Funeral Home of Bluffdale on Dec. 3, 2025.
Joshua Timothy Sterrett, a devoted father, son, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on November 29, 2025.

Born in California, Josh spent his early years on the West Coast before building homes in Colorado and, ultimately, Utah, where he lived for the remainder of his life.

Josh built a long and respected career in construction, working many years as a superintendent. He took great pride in his work-steady, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand or share his knowledge with anyone who needed it. His strong work ethic was matched only by the quiet kindness he carried with him, both on the job site and in every relationship he formed.

Outside of work, Josh found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved movies and television, and he nurtured a lifelong passion for building model airplanes-a hobby that blended his patience, creativity, and attention to detail. Above all, the greatest joy of his life was his granddaughter, Skylure. The unique bond they shared was a constant light, and time spent with her was his most cherished happiness.

Josh is survived by his three children-his daughter, Wendy, and his sons, Ben and Dakota-his beloved granddaughter, Skylure, his mother, Lauren, his stepmother, Terri, his father, David, his older brother, Scott and his half brothers Isaiah and Evan. To all who knew him, Josh was the embodiment of understanding and compassion: a man whose gentle heart and quiet strength made others feel truly heard, valued, and cared for.

His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will continue to inspire kindness in all who loved him.

"So close, no matter how far.

Couldn't be much more from the heart.

Forever trusting who we are.

Nothing else matters." - Metallica
