Josiah Murray Obituary

Josiah A. "Jess" Murray, 91, of Williams Township, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 31, 1933, in Williams Township, PA, he was the son of the late Walter and Olive (Wolbach) Murray.
His wife of 61 years, Barbara Anne (Reinheimer) Murray, passed away October 30, 2023.
Jess was a proud veteran. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany.
He was a self-employed electrician. Years ago, he worked as a mechanic for the former Henderson Packard Garage for eight years.
Jess enjoyed restoring his old Jeep, hunting and fishing.
He was a member of St. John's on Morgan Hill.
Jess was a life member of Williams Township Volunteer Fire Company where he was a firefighter and former vice president. He formerly served as a supervisor in Williams Township for 12 years.
Surviving are his children, Jeffrey Murray, Pamela Strawn and her husband Michael, and William Murray and his wife Lynne, all of Williams Township; a brother, Dale Murray and his wife Sharon, of Williams Township; seven grandchildren, Scott Gordon, Amanda Whitehead and her husband Joshua, William Murray, Jr. and his wife Victoria, Melissa Thatcher and her husband Kurt, Jessica Kann and her husband Kyle, Kyle Strawn and his wife Alexis, and Kayla Marhefka and her husband Eric; seven great-grandchildren, Adelynn, Nikolai, Luke, Nash, Gavin, Bennett and William "Tripp"; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Tammy A. Murray, five brothers, John, William, Eldon, Walter and Douglas Murray, and four sisters, Grace Gutzweiler, Ruth Wagner, Leah Mercier and Olive Kutz.
Services will be held at 11am Saturday in St. John's on Morgan Hill, 2720 Morgan Hill Road, Williams Township. Call Saturday 9-10:30am in the church. Interment will be in St. John's Union Cemetery. Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Easton. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
